Kirkstall precision is very strong on its heritage and traditions on conventional machining principles and our manual machine shop is at the heart of this even today. It’s staffed by a dedicated and long-standing team of machinists who are skilled and dexterous when it comes to drilling, cutting and shaping a wide range of materials.

All our apprentices start their first 6 months in the manual machine shop learning the basic principles of engineering. From basic turning, milling, grinding and fitting, a hands-on grounding to create an experienced machine shop worker ensures we can take on a wide range of manual projects that need adaptability of thought but years of experience.
